Nosheen Iqbal
Rich in color, pattern, and texture, her pieces investigate tactility and optics, often pushing beyond the traditional boundaries of embroidery.
Nosheen Iqbal was featured in Britt Design Group’s December 2025 Evening of Art series, where her work resonated immediately with collectors—four pieces found new homes over the course of the show.
Born in Surrey, England, and raised in Texas from her mid-teens, Nosheen brings a layered cultural and design background to her practice. She earned her BFA in Communication Design from the University of North Texas, where she was recognized with the Outstanding Portfolio Award, and went on to spend more than a decade at Fossil. There, she advanced through design and art direction roles to become a lead watch designer, contributing to global brands including DKNY, Armani Exchange, Opening Ceremony, and Michaels.
Nosheen’s work is an exploration of self-preservation and identity, grounded in the visual language of her Pakistani and Islamic heritage. Rich in color, pattern, and texture, her pieces investigate tactility and optics, often pushing beyond the traditional boundaries of embroidery.
Using materials such as wood and converging threads across varied planes, she introduces a sense of duality—placing juxtaposed elements in conversation to encourage the viewer to look more closely and consider multiple perspectives. Her work draws from Pakistan’s long history of pigment dyeing and regional embroidery traditions, as well as the intricate geometry and repetition found in Islamic art, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.
Nosheen has collaborated with brands including Hermès, Starbucks, Virgin Voyages, and Marriott, and has supported organizations such as Dwell with Dignity and the Amaal USA Scholarship Fund. She is also part of the Tin District artist community.
